In the August 2016 Examiner, we posted an article on Ethics and indicated our office had begun an evaluation of department employees’ awareness of the Ethics Policy and its requirements. This is a follow–up to the previous article.
In 1989, Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority was launched as a temporary alternative mode of transportation for area commuters during the Interstate 95 and Florida Turnpike expansion. Fast forward to the future, in 2003 the Florida Legislature established the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) with the right to own, operate, maintain, and manage a transit system in the tri-county area of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Still known as Tri-Rail, this commuter rail carries up to 15,000 passengers a day.
