The Importance of Tracking Public Records Requests

Florida has one of the oldest and broadest public records laws, first established in 1909. The Florida Department of Transportation Open Government Bill of Rights provides that a public record request does not have to be made in writing, unless specifically required by statute. A major challenge for the Department is tracking public record requests.
